12µm pixel pitch thermal sensor camera(CZ series)

Product description

In the past, the pixel pitch of thermal camera sensors was 35µm or 25µm, but as sensor manufacturing technology progresses, 17µm pixel pitch sensors have become more popular in the market. In the future, thermal sensors for thermal cameras are expected to gradually improve to 12µm, 10µm, and 8µm pixel pitch step by step when further developed. For companies that manufacture thermal sensors, the number of thermal sensors produced on a single wafer increases when the pixel pitch of the sensor is reduced, which means that the unit price per sensor can be lower, so all companies are fiercely competing for technology to lower the pixel pitch. COX recently released a camera that uses a 12µm pixel pitch thermal sensor. The existing 17µm pixel pitch camera is called the CG series, and the new 12µm pixel pitch camera is called the CZ series. The CZ series thermal camera is basically same as the CG series thermal camera, except that the sensor is replaced with a 12µm pixel pitch sensor instead of a 17µm pixel pitch sensor, and the CZ series thermal camera has the same specifications and performance. If you are using a lens with the same focal distance, the 12µm pixel pitch sensor camera will reduce the angle of view than if you were using a 17µm pixel pitch sensor camera, so you must re-select the lens with respect to the angle of view for 12µm pixel pitch sensor camera. The CZ series camera is the same as the CG series camera, consisting of cameras for temperature measurement and security purposes, analog cameras and network cameras. CZ series cameras use the same case as CG series cameras. The CZ series camera uses the same case as the CG series camera, so we cannot tell whether it is a CZ series or a CG series until we verify the model name shown on the side of the case. The SDK and sample programs for CZ320 and CZ640 cameras are the same as for CG320 and CG640, and the API for CZ300-IP/CZ600-IP/CZ320-IP/CZ640-IP is the same as CG300-IP/CG600-IP/CG320-IP/CG640-IP.

PRODUCT FEATURES

The angle of view of a 12µm pixel pitch sensor camera is reduced by 12/17, i.e., 29.4%, if the same focal length lens is paired to compare to that of a 17µm pixel pitch sensor camera.
If you look at objects at the same distance with 12µm pixel pitch sensor camera and the 17µm pixel pitch sensor cameras, respectively, paired the same focal length lens, respectively, the image of the objects in 12µm pixel pitch sensor camera can be viewed (17-12)/12 = 0.417, or 41.7% larger than the object in the 17µm pixel pitch sensor camera.
The 12µm pixel pitch thermal sensor camera is absolutely advantageous for military projects or border boundary projects that require to see objects at long distances large.

CG600-IP with 30-150mm zoom lens

CZ600-IP with 30-150mm zoom lens

Above pictures are captured from the video of 17µm pixels pitch thermal sensor camera(CG600-IP) and 12µm pixels pitch thermal sensor camera(CZ600-IP) respectively at winter night(temperature -4℃), all paired with the same lens(30mm-150mm zoom lens). Target patterns(square and triangle of 30cm in the side, and circle of 30cm in diameter/patten part are 8℃ higher than background by installing heating plate behind pattern area) and people besides pattern target in the pictures captured in the video taken by 12µm pixel pitch sensor camera is 42% bigger in size compared to in the video taken by 17µm pixel pitch sensor camera.
In other words, the angle of view of 12µm pixel pitch thermal sensor camera decreases, the object can be viewed as large, which is absolutely advantageous for military projects or border boundary projects that require a large view of distant objects.

The security network cameras that COX has supplied so far are paired with various zoom lenses such as 15-60mm, 25-75mm, 25-100mm, 30-120mm, 30-150mm, 40-160mm, and 25-225mm.

SPECIFICATION

In the specification of the 17µm pixel pitch sensor camera (CG series), only the sensor portion is different and the remaining specifications are basically the same.
